Patsy Anne Smith Hill, age 83, passed peacefully from this life, Monday, June 8, 2020 at home in Greenville, Texas

Patsy Anne Smith Hill was born in Dallas, Texas On April 4, 1937 as the 3rd child of Babe Smith and Mary McCown Perkins Smith.  She joined her older siblings, Shirley Smith and Bill Smith in the home in historic East Dallas, where their father was a shoe cobbler.

Patsy shared a birthday with her Aunt Betty (Marion Elizabeth Perkins Goodson), and spent much time at the house of her grandmother Mamaw ( Lee Ella Wier Perkins).  While in school, Patsy became proficient in playing piano and also in ice skating, which her new sister-in-law Mary Lucille Brown Smith would take her to the practices.

After high school graduation in 1955, Patsy was employed in downtown Dallas in office work. Playing piano at church, she met Leo Frank Hill from Mundy, Texas.  They were married June 23, 1956, in a beautiful wedding gown made by herAunt Betty Goodson.  

After purchasing their first home on Motley Drive in Mesquite, Texas, their family grew on October 29, 1957, upon the birth of Sondra Sue Hill.  Scott David Hill joined the family on September 26, 1961.  After moving to their first farm out in Sunnyvale, Texas, Sherwood Ray Hill was born November 12, 1966.

Active in churches wherever they lived, Patsy’s piano playing was utilized in every church. Her son Scott remembers his mother practicing piano, while daughter Sondra, remembers her mother’s beautiful voice singing church hymns.

Patsy is predeceased  by her parents and siblings.

Patsy is survived by husband Leo F. Hill of Greenville, Texas, almost celebrating  their 64th wedding anniversary on June 23, 2020.

Daughter, Sondra Hill, of Cross Roads, Texas.  Son, Scott Hill and wife Tina, of Greenville, Texas. Son, Sherwood Hill and wife Jonelle, of Phoenix, Arizona.  9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren are left to remember their hard working, dedicated, hospitable grandmother.
