The family and friends of Mike Hendricks, 81, who was a member of Salem-Kinser UMC, are mourning the loss of our dear saint and friend.  Mike was a dearly loved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a saint in the faith.  Mike finished the race on October 26, 2019 surrounded by his family.  He fought the good fight, kept the faith, and now has gone to receive the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will give to him. 

Mike was born January 25, 1938 in De Queen, Arkansas to James Bert and Laura Rone Hendricks.  He married Addie Sue Elliott on April 25, 1958 in Durant, Oklahoma.  He retired after 43 years of dedicated service to Raytheon and E-Systems, where he received “E-Teamer” of the year in 1992.

Mike was a member of Salem-Kinser UMC for 56 years, where he served faithfully as Chair of Pastor Parish Relations Committee, Chairman of Trustees, Chairman of Administrative Board, Sunday School Teacher, Annual Conference Representative, Co-Chair of Missions Committee, and was also a Scout Master.

He is survived by the love of his life, Addie Sue Hendricks, married for 61 years; son, Dr. Joel Hendricks and wife, Katrina; daughters, Kathy Edinger and husband, Emery, Ellen Lowry and husband, Karl, Cecilia Money and husband, Dale; brother, Flint Hendricks and wife, Melba; grandchildren, Trey Edinger, Josh Edinger, James Lowry, Michael Lowry, Daniel Money, Patrick Money, Aaron Money, Timothy Money, Mitchell Money, Laura Hendricks, Lindsey Hendricks and Adalyn Money; also 9 great-grandchildren.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem-Kinser UMC, under the directions of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Langdon and Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating.  Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Grandsons will serve has pallbearers.
