Margery Maxine Trenary Satterwhite Erickson

Margery Trenary Erickson (92), loving wife of Roy Erickson and mother of four sons, died Saturday, August 24th in Greenville, Texas.

Margery was born on September 20, 1926 to Clarence and Catherine Trenary in Vernon Township, Kay County (Peckham), Oklahoma. She graduated from Pawhuska High School before joining the war effort fabricating aircraft at the Beechcraft plant in Wichita, Kansas. She was one of the many thousands of “Rosie the Riveters” during World War II.

After the war, she married James D. Satterwhite in Wichita, Kansas. Four sons resulted from this union, James D. Satterwhite, Jr. of Greenville, Gerry L. Satterwhite of Cash, Richard A. Satterwhite of Quinlan and Robert L. Satterwhite of Cash.

She married Roy E. Erickson of Quinlan in 1978.  Mrs. Erickson worked at E-Systems and later Raytheon before retiring. She then worked at the Herald Banner newspaper in Greenville but still found time to volunteer at the Greenville Hospital as a “Pink Lady”. Margie and Roy were members of the Four-Square Square Dance Club of Caddo Mills. She was a member of Van Sickle Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Catherine Trenary. Two brothers, Buck and Kenneth Trenary; three sisters, Phyllis Oster, Doris Shields and Betty Shelton. She is survived by her husband Roy, sons, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Celebration of Life will be on August 29, 2019 at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas at 1 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Remember for Me, Post Office Box 31, Greenville, Texas 75403.
