Larry Wayne Eason, 72, of Greenville, passed away on March 17, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be 1 P.M., Thursday, March 21, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Celeste with Rev. Jim Sherwin and Rev. Riley Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 P.M.-8 P.M., Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Mr. Eason was born September 22, 1946 in Greenville, Texas to H.J. Eason and Billie Putman. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1965, he served in the United States Navy in the Vietnam Conflict and served as aircrewman flying A3s aboard (87 missions) aircraft carrier USS Constellation until 1969.  He came home to marry the love of his life, Paula Gibson on September 20, 1969 in Celeste, Texas.  Larry worked for Garland Firefighter/EMT until his retirement and then worked for Central Ambulance part-time.  He became a cattle rancher but had a love for hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed his travel to Colorado.  Larry adored his children and grandchildren and was delighted in their accomplishments.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Celeste and served as Deacon; A3 Skywarriors Association, Garland Alumni Association, Caddo Mills 581 Masonic Lodge and also served on the board of Celeste fire department until he became ill.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Eason of Greenville; sons, Rev. Bill Eason and wife, Martha of Dallas; Pastor Mike Eason and wife, Jana of Sulphur Springs and Steven Eason and wife, Tammy of Greenville; brother, Bill Eason and wife, Belva of Greenville; grandchildren, Sean, Colby, Aryn, Ty, Allie, Tristen, Kaela and Alyssa; and great-grandchild, Damon.

He is preceded in death by his parents and great-granddaughter, Mia Marie Eason.

Pallbearers will be James Gross, Duane Compton, Jon Tomlinson, John McDaniel, Dan Turrentine, Ronnie Butler, Vince Warner and Jerry Click.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Saye, David White, Mark Helton, A.J. Ferrier, Dr. Dee McCrary, Gene Martin; Larry’s Sunday School Class and Deacons of First Baptist Church of Celeste.
