On Saturday, January 23, 2021 Jerry West Sossamon, loving father of 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren passed at the age of 78.
Jerry was born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas September 30, 1942. The only son of five children, born to Harvey Alfred Sossamon and Josie Eva West-Sossamon. He married Virginia Arthur in 1962 had two children Sheila and Randy. Divorced and remarried Debra Heimermann in 1980 and had another child, Michael.
He worked at a dairy farm until he moved to Texas in 1962 then went to work at Kraft Foods in various positions until retirement in 1998. He loved music, played guitar, and bass guitar. He was in a band in his younger years the Country Cut Ups. He joined the Masonic Lodge and was a Master Mason of the 32nd degree. He loved his birth state Arkansas and moved back in about 1999 where he lived in the Dalark area until 2015 when he came back to Texas. He played music for the Arkadelphia Senior Center as well as at Manning Baptist Church.He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and grandson Scott.
