Darlene Press, 82, of Greenville died Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Briarcliff Health Center of Greenville. A graveside service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 10, 2020 at Blue Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Steve Payne officiating. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 
Mrs. Press was born November 14, 1937, in Kirkwood, Illinois., to Guy Shook and Goldie May Shook. She married Jerry Lee Press on Aug. 26, 1955. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2018. They were longtime members of Highland Terrace Baptist Church. In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Press worked as a secretary, serving first at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and later at E-Systems. 
She is survived by daughter Cindy Williams and her husband Dwayne of Greenville; son Steven Press and his wife Dana of Flower Mound; daughter Diane Camp and her husband Ken of Garland; and son Brad Press and his wife Holly of Royse City; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Logsdon of Bushnell, Illinois. 
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Shook of Port Orange, Florida.
